Although the Commissary provides for an entrance to the Museum, it also houses the gift shop and has on display archival material about the history of the mill town of Long Leaf. Historically the Commissary served numerous functions for the mill town. Today the Commissary in addition to displays of an early sawmill town, it has a small theater were a video about the museum is shown, and a café area which is available when hosting meetings that are being held in the conference room. The conference room is available for rental for groups as large as 50 individuals.
